About

I'm Chris, I am a 24 year old fashion graduate currently working as a trainee pattern technologist for an extremely well known British clothing retailer.

I was born in Scotland in 1990 and moved about a bit until I settled into high school where I stayed until I was 17. A few months before my 18th birthday I moved to England to a city called Derby, I went to college here for a year and studied Art & Design. From there I started to attend Derby University where I studied a BaHons in Fashion Studies. I completed two years of study before beginning a year of industry work placements. I spent my time working at a fashion trend researcher and online magazine The Trend Boutique this was an incredible experience and one that proved invaluable later on when looking for jobs. I also spend a few months working in London at well known British womenswear designer Richard Nicoll, my time here was amazing, informative and exciting.

I returned to my final year of university where I completed my final degree collection, dissertation and all the, I'm sure completely necessary, accompanying work! I completed my degree in June 2013 with a first class honours, which I am incredibly proud of.

I am now a few months into working as a trainee pattern technologist, continuing to learn and loving every minute of it. I am still living in Derby with my amazing photographer boyfriend and my textile designer best friend.

I would love to keep this blog as an insight into my working life, my personal life, my loves, interests and any general eye catching bits and bobs!

Enjoy!
